Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Trading Buddy (including mycryptotradingbuddy.com, and the Trading Buddy App):

• Email address (for account login and notifications)
• Discord username (when you connect your Discord account)
• Password (hashed and securely stored — we never store your password in plain text)
• Referral code (a unique code assigned to your account for the referral program)
• Referral attribution (the code used when you signed up, if applicable)
• Payout preference (subscription credit or cash payout, if you participate in the referral program)
• Stripe Connect account ID (if you opt into cash payouts — your bank account and tax information is collected directly by Stripe, not by Trading Buddy)
• Trade and position data (ticker/symbol, coins, buy and sell prices, and any notes you enter in the Trading Buddy App — stored securely and never shared with third parties)
• Shipping details for member rewards — if you claim a free shirt or other member reward, we collect the name, phone number, garment size and postal address you enter on the claim form. This information is used solely to produce and deliver that item, and is shared only with the parties needed to fulfil and ship it. We retain the claim record so the reward cannot be claimed twice on the same account.
• Coinbase API credentials — if you enable the automated trading bot, we store your Coinbase API key name and private key, encrypted at rest on our servers. These credentials are used to execute trades on your behalf through Coinbase's Advanced Trade API, and are also used to read data from your Coinbase account. The data we read is: your account balance; your open orders; your completed orders and trade fills in the markets the Bot trades — which may include trades you placed yourself rather than through the Bot; the holdings in your account, including the quantity and the average purchase price (cost basis) Coinbase reports for each asset, whether or not it was purchased by the Bot; and your Coinbase fee tier. We read this data to operate the Bot, to calculate your trading results accurately, and for account support and troubleshooting by Trading Buddy staff. Your credentials are never shared with any third party other than Coinbase.
• Bot configuration — your bot settings, including investment amount per trade and other parameters you configure in the app.
• Bot trade history — records of trades executed by the bot on your behalf, including symbol, entry/exit prices, profit/loss, and timestamps.
• WebAuthn credential ID — if you enable biometric login (Face ID, fingerprint, etc.), we store a unique credential identifier associated with your device. Your actual biometric data (face scan, fingerprint) never leaves your device and is never transmitted to or stored by Trading Buddy.
• Usage data (pages visited, features used)
• AI chat messages — if you use the AI chat assistant on our website, we log your messages, the AI's responses, your IP address, and (if you voluntarily provide it when requesting human support) your email address. These logs are used to improve the assistant and respond to support requests.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide access to your account and the Trading Buddy App
• Send important notifications and verification emails
• Execute automated trades on your behalf through the Coinbase Advanced Trade API (when you enable the bot)
• Display your bot trading history and performance within the app
• Improve our service and user experience, including the AI chat assistant
• Respond to human support requests submitted through the chat assistant
• Calculate and apply automatic Bot Loss Credits to eligible full-paying bot subscribers based on bot trade history (when applicable)
• Prevent abuse and ensure security

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in these cases:

• With trusted service providers (e.g., email delivery via Resend)
• With infrastructure providers that host our website, application, and database, and that route and secure traffic to our services. These providers process your data only as needed to operate Trading Buddy on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• With Anthropic — messages sent through the AI chat assistant on our website are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle this data. We do not send account information, financial data, or any personally identifying information to Anthropic — only the chat messages themselves.
• With Stripe for payment processing, subscription management, and — if you opt into cash payouts — bank account onboarding and payouts via Stripe Connect. Stripe's privacy policy governs data collected during their onboarding process, including bank account and tax identification information.
• With our print and fulfilment partners, if you claim a free shirt or other member reward, so the item can be produced and shipped to the address you provided.
• With Coinbase, via the Coinbase Advanced Trade API, to execute automated trades on your behalf and to read the account data described above — your balance, open orders, completed orders and fills, holdings and cost basis, and your fee tier — for bot operation, results reporting and support. Your API credentials are transmitted to Coinbase's servers only for these purposes and are never shared with any other third party.
• With the IRS, as required by law, if your referral cash earnings exceed $600 in a calendar year (via 1099-MISC reporting handled by Stripe)
• When required by law
• To protect the rights and safety of Trading Buddy

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including password hashing, encryption of Coinbase API private keys at rest, and secure servers. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Coinbase account and for revoking API keys immediately if you believe they may have been compromised.

5. Biometric Authentication

Trading Buddy offers optional biometric login (Face ID, Touch ID, or other platform-supported biometrics) using the WebAuthn standard. If you enable this feature, your device generates a unique cryptographic credential and we store only the associated credential ID — never your biometric data (fingerprint, face scan, etc.). Your biometric data is processed entirely on your device by your operating system and is never transmitted to or accessible by Trading Buddy.

6. Your Rights

You may request to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of marketing emails

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and browser sessionStorage to maintain your chat session state while navigating the site. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new policy.
